Qubes OS 4.2 is Officially Supported

The fantastic people at Qubes OS have recently released a new version 4.2 of Qubes OS. This version improves the overall performance and usability. Some of the key highlights include:

  • Dom0 with Fedora 37
  • Core App Improvements
  • Template Upgrades
  • PipeWire Support

The last weeks we have been constantly working on verifying that all our Nitropad and NitroPC, including the officially Qubes certified computers, are working properly with the new Qubes OS version 4.2.

This also means that all our products with Qubes OS pre-installed are now shipped with Qubes OS 4.2. To update your Nitropad or NitroPC to the latest Qubes OS version you can follow this guide. You can find the official Nitrokey OEM images for Qubes OS 4.2 here.

No OEM 4.2 can be found under the 4.2 downlink link. Only version 4.0.4, 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. Where can I find the OEM version 4.2?

Please re-check they should be available now - was uploaded to the wrong directory.

There is still no OEM images for Qubes OS 4.2 available under the download link above, the latest Version is 4.1.2.

yes, we updated the location, the link should now point to the right location - thanks for pointing that out.

https://www.nitrokey.com/files/ci/nitropc/qubes-oem/sha256sum and https://www.nitrokey.com/files/ci/qubes/sha256sum both list images for 4.2 but the hashes are different. Why did they change from first upload?

uh, good catch, thank you - the first one was an old (test) image, we've removed it from the sha256sum file. The overall situation will improve soon as we are currently putting together a centralized page for all these downloads.
