Neue Verfügbarkeiten von NitroPad V54, V56 mit NVIDIA, Heads

Die NitroPads V54 und V56 sind grundsätzlich bereits seit mehreren Monaten verfügbar, jedoch noch nicht in allen Varianten. Nun werden weitere Varianten lieferbar.

Dasharo UEFI/TianoCore ist nun auch für NitroPads V5x mit NVIDIA-Grafik verfügbar (bisher nur für Intel-Grafik). Wir beginnen nächste Woche mit der Auslieferung der Vorbestellungen von NitroPads V54 und V56 mit NVIDIA-Grafikkarte.

Die Verfügbarkeit der Firmware Heads für NitroPad V56 hat nun erstmals ein Plandatum, nämlich Dezember 2024. Eine pünktliche Auslieferung vor Weihnachten können wir jedoch nicht garantieren, sondern wir gehen davon aus im Laufe des Januars alle NitroPads V56 mit Heads und Intel-Grafik ausgeliefert zu haben.

Als nächstes ist Heads für NitroPad V54 mit Intel-Grafik geplant und soll im ersten oder zweiten Quartal 2025 fertig werden.

Qubes für NitroPad V54 ist noch nicht verfügbar, da es ein Problem mit der Displayauflösung gibt. An einer Lösung wird weiterhin gearbeitet aber es gibt noch kein Plandatum. Derzeit können wir Qubes auf dem NitroPad V54 nur mit einem externen Bildschirm empfehlen. Zudem planen wir ab Februar 2025 V5x mit Full-HD Display anzubieten, die dies Problem nicht haben.

Sobald es weitere Neuigkeiten gibt werden wir euch hier informieren.

Für HEADS gibt es die ersten firmware images - die werden aber noch ein wenig brauchen - dieses Jahr könnte es aber die ersten Releases geben. Das wird aber noch ohne NVIDIA sein, damit rechnen wir wahrscheinlich erst im kommenden Jahr.

what about Nitropad V56 with Nvidia & Heads? Are these being shipped immediately after the Nitropads V56 with and Intel graphics have been shipped / is there a planned date? Or is there additional development time needed?

There is additional development ongoing, HEADS is in alpha/beta the first release is approaching here. NVIDIA is currently not plannable on a specific date, we target beginning of the year.

I am interested in v56 with heads and nvidia. Is beginning of the year like February? Or more like April, June?

Uh, I am sorry - just some days ago the decision was taken that this is the only combination (for both), which won't be available. The reasons range from high development complexity (thus efforts) to limited demand for this specific combination, but the exploding complexity here is the dominating factor. Depending where your priority is, the reasonable alternative would be w/o NVIDIA, but including HEADS - or the other way around. Furthermore, if you're looking for decent gfx you might want to take a look at the NitroPC Pro, if mobility is merely a sufficient and not a necessary requirement.

Thanks. If I buy a Nitropad with Heads today, when will it likely be shipped? End of January - or does this only apply to people who already bought it some time ago?

On the product page there is now no more information about the remaining time until the configuration is available. Can I assume that from now on all orders will be shipped within 15 working days?

Yes, it's gone for V56 were this assumption is perfectly right - for V54 it's still there

But HEADS is still being worked on? Will those combinations be removed from the configurator? HEADS is still default so it seems very easy to choose an option with the Nvidia GPU.

The specs for the display on the V56 have changed. Before it stated the 2560x1600 resolution screen was available for configurations with the 155H processor. Now it only lists that resolution panel for the configurations with nvidia graphics cards. I pre-ordered a V56 with HEADS and the 155H processor (intel integrated graphics, no nvidia). Does this mean I'm not going to receive the higher resolution display?

any news on when you are able to ship the v54 with quebs and nvidia? any difference to v54 without nvidia but with quebs?

Indeed: yes. We just successfully tested this solution - this means both variants of the V54 with and w/o NVIDIA will be working nicely with QubesOS .... This should happen through a dom0 upgrade automatically, we'll be shipping the first devices starting today.
